Sweet and Savory Bread Sticks
What is needed: Knife
Cutting board Measuring cup Measuring spoons Small saucepan Pastry brush Non-stick cookie sheet Cooling rack
Ingredients:
Two Ready-to-bake bread sticks in tube can 1/2 stick melted butter 1/4 cup sugar 2 Tablespoons cinnamon 3 Tablespoons Italian seasoning 2 Tablespoons Parmesan cheese
Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Open tube can of bread sticks and separate. Brush each bread stick on one side with melted butter using small pastry brush. For sweet bread sticks, mix together sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over buttered bread sticks. Twist bread sticks around two times. Place twisted bread sticks on non-stick cookie sheet. Bake in oven 10-15 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Remove from oven and cool completely on cooling rack. Serve immediately or store in an airtight storage container for one week. For savory bread sticks, open tube can of bread sticks and separate. Brush each bread stick on one side with melted butter using pastry brush. Mix together Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle cheese mixture evenly over buttered breadsticks. Twist bread sticks around two times. Place twisted bread sticks on non-stick cookie sheet. Bake in oven 10-15 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Serve immediately or store in an airtight storage container for one week.
Serving suggestions:
Serve sweet breadsticks for breakfast with juice. Serve as a mid-day snack.
Serve savory breadsticks with your main course in place of rolls. Serve along side salad or soup. Serve as a snack.
